Frequently Asked Questions

Can I have more than one weekly entry?

Yes, you can have up to 20 entries per each weekly draw.

Each £1 entry buys you one “chance” of winning in our lottery.

Can I choose my own lottery numbers?

No. Every entry into the draw is automatically allocated a unique lottery number. The odds of winning are fair and equal for every number. Once a number is allocated to a player it cannot be allocated again to another player.

How can I pay for my entries?

You can either pay by Direct Debit, Debit Card, or 'Pay by Bank' online, or send a cheque to us in the post.

To join online please click here. If you would like to request a postal form, then please contact the Unity Lottery helpline on 0370 050 9240 or complete our contact form.

Why is the price £4.34 per month when paying Direct Debit?

The monthly cost breakdown of £4.34 for playing the lottery is based on paying £1 per week over a 52 week year.

Direct Debits are only collected once a month, and sometimes there will be five weeks in a month and so the additional 34p required is to build up enough credit to cover the fifth week on these five-week months.

Are my entries eligible for Gift Aid?

Unfortunately, as with any charity fundraising lottery, entries are not eligible for Gift Aid. We can, however, claim Gift Aid on donations.

If you would like to make a donation to Saint Catherine's Hospice, please click here to make a one-time donation, or click here if you'd like to make a regular donation.

How can I check and see if I've won?

All winning members will be sent their prizes automatically by post each week directly following the draw.

You can also click here to check the results page on our website.

How do I claim my prize?

There's no need to claim your prize if you win, it will be sent to you automatically. Direct Debit players will receive their prizes directly into the bank account, and Debit Card, 'Pay by Bank', and eVoucher players will be sent a cheque in the post.

If you're a £25,000 winner, we'll always send a cheque to you in the post, regardless of how you pay for your entries.

How can I cancel my lottery membership?

You can cancel your membership in writing by sending a letter to:

What is the minimum age requirement to enter

You must be over the age of 18 to enter the lottery.

How are the lottery proceeds used?

A minimum of 60% of the total lottery proceeds go to supporting the work carried out by Saint Catherine's Hospice, 18.4% on prizes and 31.6% on expenses and administration of the lottery.

What are the odds of winning a prize?

Each £1 entry has a 1 in 63 chance of winning one of four fantastic prizes. Every entry in Unity has an equal chance of winning, no matter which charity is being supported or how many players that good cause has in their lottery.
